TIFFE Youth Outreach counselors provide school-based services to youth with substance use problems at Kaimuki High School, Jarrett Middle School, Washington Middle School, and Kaiser High School. Services include individual and group counseling that is designed to strengthen youth resilience by addressing self-awareness, self-esteem, problem-solving skills, coping skills, peer relationships, substance use education and counseling, and learning to make healthy and positive personal decisions. TIFFE Youth Outreach Program also provides opportunities for youth who enroll in the program to participate in pro-social, positive activities with other youth during school as well as during school breaks and inter-sessions. Youth participation is voluntary and confidential.
Middle-school and high-school age adolescents who meet either the current diagnostic criteria for substance use. All clients in any level of treatment shall meet the most current version of the ASAM PPC for admission, continuance, and discharge from Level 0.5 (Early Intervention) and Level I (Outpatient Treatment).
