Healthy Families (formerly Healthy Start) provides comprehensive home visitation services to prenatal families or families with newborn infants for three full years, until baby turns 3 years old. Families must reside in the Waianae area. Services are delivered with a team approach that offers monitoring of medical home, child development, parenting curriculum, community resource referral, monthly socialization groups and provides bridging clinical services. Home visitors partner with families to address individual needs, set and support goals and build an environment around the parent and child that supports healthy attachment, safety and developmental stimulation. The intensity of the program varies over the course of service, starting with weekly home visits, and reducing the frequency as the family and child meet their goals.
