2016 Donor Newsletter V.2

2016_nlv2_kupuna

Thanks to your generous contributions and support, we were able to launch our Kūpuna Outreach Support and Services program in July – a new initiative geared towards local seniors who are 55 years and older, and their caregivers. Groups meet twice a month in Waipahu at the Hoolulu Elderly Apartments and in Wahiawa at the Botanical Gardens. During these sessions, seniors exercise while their caregivers receive support and training. These exercises include light stretching and strengthening activities. Case management services are also available, where participants can receive a comprehensive assessment and create a support plan for home. If needed, these services may continue with in-home visits at the seniors’ residence.

It is only with the help of the community that we’ve been able to launch the Kupuna Outreach Support and Services program. We’d like to thank The Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation for their generous funding, and the group volunteers and guest speakers who donate their time and effort to the program.
