2015 Donor Newsletter V.2
Gunner Hatcher is a remarkable young man and supporter of Child & Family Service. A sixth grader at Kamehameha Elementary Schools, Gunner selected CFS as the beneficiary for his Service Learning Project.
Gunner and his parents know CFS changes lives. When a family friend and her children were in need of help, CFS was there to provide safety and shelter from domestic violence. Thanks to the support and life skills developed while with CFS, this family friend now has a successful career and stands as a testament of courage and strength.
Knowing how CFS helped his family friend, Gunner was inspired to support our work. He named his project “Gift of Hope,” saying that he wanted to help women and children at our shelters build new lives, free of violence.
Together with his parents, Gunner picked up donated items for families in our emergency domestic abuse shelter and transitional housing facilities. Clothing, toys, bedding, food, and more were all delivered to CFS through Gunner’s hard work.
According to his mom Barbie, “As parents, not only is it important to give, it’s about teaching our son in becoming a better spouse and parent one day. Everyone is worthy of hope.”
Mahalo to Gunner and the Hatcher family for giving families hope when they need it most.
Mahalo to the Foundations supporting our programs from July to December 2015.
