2015 Donor Newsletter V.2
Welcome TIFFE, our newest family member!
Bigger is not always better, but when it allows Child & Family Service (CFS) to do more to strengthen families and foster the healthy development of children in Hawai‘i, then we welcome the change.
In this issue we feature the addition of The Institute for Family Enrichment (TIFFE) to the CFS family. After the initial coming together of our two organizations in 2012, we completed our merger this past July.
TIFFE was formed 30 years ago and is recognized for providing high quality therapeutic programs that support behavioral health. With its tradition of innovation, many in-home mental health and substance abuse programs currently used across the state began at or were created by TIFFE.
Last year alone TIFFE provided direct services to 824 individuals and touched the lives of more than 3,365 family members, through its Mobile Outreach Program for isolated parents and their young children, and through Together We Can, a substance abuse prevention program for youth.
During its evaluation of TIFFE, the Council for Accreditation noted that TIFFE staff members are clearly passionate about the work they do. They are committed to providing treatment that engages the total ‘ohana and empowers families to develop the skills needed to achieve and sustain their goals. We totally agree!
The addition of TIFFE fills out the number of CFS programs that provide a robust continuum of care to the community, helping us respond to the needs of young people with a variety of behavioral and emotional challenges. CFS youth services now range from crisis mobile outreach, to a community-based residential group home and transitional family home programs, to in-home behavioral health programs offered by TIFFE. With the addition of TIFFE, CFS now offers nearly 50 programs statewide to help Hawai‘i’s families.
Thanks to the hard work of CFS and TIFFE management, and staff members working together to complete the merger, our organization is stronger and even better equipped to meet the needs of Hawai‘i’s families. We are excited about the impact we will continue to make together.
