Healthy Families Program Participants Surprise Publisher of Newspaper
Child & Family Service Thanks Newspaper President & Publisher, Dennis Francis
Members of ten families who participate in Child & Family Service (CFS) programs presented Honolulu Star-Advertiser President & Publisher, Dennis Francis, with a surprise thank-you at the May 5th CFS Board meeting. The Honolulu Star-Advertiser recently donated $100,000 to CFS through the publication’s Subscriber Donation Program.
The surprise thank-you included family members who are currently in the CFS Healthy Families program (formerly called Healthy Start). CFS Healthy Families is a signature CFS program for families with infants and young children. The program partners with parents to provide a nurturing home environment, and connects parents to helpful services and information in support of learning, safety, and developmental stimulation.
“We are extremely grateful to Dennis Francis, the Honolulu Star-Advertiser, and its subscribers for supporting the work of CFS in our community,” said Howard Garval, President and CEO of CFS. “Through this marvelous donation, CFS can continue to touch the lives of more than 40,000 people statewide each year, with life-changing results.”
