The annual Kaua‘i Guildas Holiday Giving project provides families on Kaua‘i with the opportunity to participate in the holidays while learning valuable skills and strengthening their families.
Armed with gift cards to Kaua‘i retailers, CFS case workers take their clients shopping and guide them on how to select and purchase an age appropriate gift for their child(ren) while also sticking to their budget. Parents are able to feel the joy of selecting the perfect gift and learn valuable skills too.
Last year, through the generosity of 111 Guildas, 278 keiki received gifts and 66 families received giant food baskets!
The support of the Guildas helped to strengthen families and facilitated family building activities such as:
• A father was able to take his 14 year old daughter, who is in foster care, to see her first movie in six years.
• A mom released from prison just in time for the holidays was able to buy gifts for her children.
• A boy chose to use his own gifted money to buy his little brother just what he wanted.
Your support will help Kaua‘i families in need this year to continue their journey to strengthen their connections and to have a memorable holiday season.
