Child & Family Service Introduces the Virtual Marathon of Quarters!
Are you looking for a fun, creative, and unique way to support a local organization focused on strengthening families?
Families Helping Families: A Virtual Marathon of Quarters is a new innovate campaign that helps families engage with one another while supporting other families across the state through Child & Family Service programs. Have you wondered, “What can my family do to help?” You and other families can make a difference and, if we run the marathon together, inch by inch, then we all cross the finish!
Our goal is to raise funds equal to the amount of quarters that will cover the length of a marathon: 26.2 miles. This is equal to 1,660,032 inches, and a quarter measures .955 inches in diameter; which translates to $434,563 in quarters to cover 26.2 miles!
The best part is you decide how to raise the money!
Families can practice their math skills, measure their height and convert it into quarters, donate the amount of quarters to cover the distance of a family walk, or get your friends and classmates involved!
Now that restrictions are easing, you could even commit to doing an allowed physical activity everyday and asking people to donate as a sign of their support.
There are limitless possibilities!
A quarter may not seem like much on its own but, just like HOPE, if you put it all together it creates real “change” in our community. Best of all, you will be strengthening Hawai`i families!
Let’s get creative and have fun – we can’t wait to see what you come up with! All funds raised will directly benefit CFS’ statewide services that impact nearly 60,000 lives – from keiki to kūpuna—each year.
