Special Schools - Hau’oli Na Keiki School and Mehana School

Specialized Schools for Children with Autism

Service Description:

Child and Family Service’s Special Schools: Hau’oli Na Keiki and Mehana provide services that are individualized to the student’s IEP/MP goal and objectives by working in conjunction with the student’s IEP/MP team and home school special education teacher. At both Hau’oli Na Keiki and Mehana, a student’s academic, communication, social, self-help, and vocational skills are addressed through a variety of mediums.

  • Communication deficits are addressed through tasks related to a student’s IEP/MP, Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), speech therapy, computer software, picture communication books, voice simulators and other assistive technology.
