Emergency Mental Health Services

Service Description:

Emergency Mental Health Services provides support, consultation and referrals to all youth whose immediate health and safety may be in jeopardy due to a mental health issue.

Services include Crisis Mobile Outreach and Crisis Stabilization services. All services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Crisis Mobile Outreach services are available to conduct a face to face assessment of the crisis situation and arrange appropriate course of action. Crisis Stabilization services provide a safe, short term place for youth to stay during a period of acute stress.

All Crisis Mobile Outreach is initiated through a call to the statewide ACCESS Line at 1-800-753-6879.

Eligibility:

All youth experiencing a crisis are eligible for services.

Fees:

There are no fees for this service.

Funders:

This service is funded by the Hawaii State Department of Health.

Your Rights

As a participant in a Child and Family Service program you have the following rights:
  • The right to a humane service environment
  • The right to services free from unlawful discrimination
  • The right to be involved in your own service planning
  • The right to confidentiality except when otherwise mandated by law
  • The right to services  which are least restrictive and most convenient
  • The right to file a complaint if these rights are infringed
Expectations:

The crisis situation is dissipated. The youth’s natural environment has the capacity to allow the youth to remain safely in the community.
