Community Based Instruction (Intensive Learning Center)Service Description:The Intenstive Learning Center (ILC) is an educational model designed specifically to meet educational and instructional needs of Hawaii Department of Education special needs youth. The goal of the ILC program is to provide personalized support, guidance, and skills necessary for these youth to meet the expectations and demands of a regular school setting. By providing comprehensive educational and behavioral support in a structured academic environment youth are guided in developing the skills necessary to meet the social and behavioral demands of learning. ILC provides the following services:
ILC serves the Felix class youth ages 13-17 who have been identified as having educational disability as part of IDEA or section 504 subpart D. This level of care has been determined by the IEP/modification plan team as the most appropriate, least restrictive possible in order to assist the youth in developing the necessary skills to benefit from appropriate public education. Services are also provided for students stepping down from higher levels of care. Fees: There are no fees charged for this program. Funders: This program is funded by the Hawaii State Department of Education. Your Rights: As a participant in a Child and Family Service program you have the following rights:
