Comprehensive Counseling & Support Services

Service Description:

The Comprehensive Counseling & Support Services (CCSS) program is a child abuse prevention and treatment program.  The program provides a broad array of services to meet the needs of children and their families including:

  • Counseling
  • Outreach Services
  • Parenting Education Classes
  • Specialized Parenting Classes for Parents in Recovery
  • Supervised Visitation
Families benefit from supportive and educational counseling that:
  • Promotes communication
  • Builds on family strengths
  • Enhances life skills
  • Fosters awareness of the special developmental needs of children
  • Models positive parenting skills
  • Helps access community resources
Eligibility:

Families are referred to the program by Department of Human Services social workers.  Referrals may include:
  • Parents/caretakers of children, and children of families at risk for child abuse/neglect;
  • Families that can be safely maintained or reunited with the provision of program services;
  • Foster families who need assistance in meeting the needs of foster children.
Fees:

There are no fees charged for this program.

Funders:

Program is funded by the State Department of Human Services.  Services are provided in partnership with: Catholic Charities, P.A.R.E.N.T.S., Inc., PACT, and The Salvation Army.

Your Rights:

As a participant in a Child and Family Service program you have the following rights:
  • The right to a humane service environment
  • The right to services free from unlawful discrimination
  • The right to be involved in your own service planning
  • The right to confidentiality except when otherwise mandated by law
  • The right to services  which are least restrictive and most convenient
  • The right to file a complaint if these rights are infringed
Expectations:

  • The client is expected to call 24-hours prior to canceling a visit.
  • If the client misses three visits without a valid reason, the case will be closed.
  • The client is expected to take an active role in achieving the planned goals.

Hours: Monday-Friday  8:00am-5:00pm

Crisis Counseling is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
