Who We Are
Child & Family Service Changes Lives
Our family-centered, full-service nonprofit has been at work in the community since 1899, and is dedicated to “Strengthening families and fostering the healthy development of children”. Through nearly 50 programs statewide, CFS works with those most in need – meeting them where they are, connecting them with the resources they need, and helping them envision and plan a future in which they can thrive.
Our programs welcome everyone from keiki to kūpuna and help Hawai‘i families address some of life’s most serious issues including poverty, abuse, and neglect. CFS programs include domestic violence emergency services, crisis counseling, case management, residential group homes, alternative secondary schooling, child abuse prevention programs, elder care programs, sexual assault counseling and employment readiness and assistance programs.
Within the past fiscal year (July 1, 2014 – June 30, 2015) alone, CFS provided direct services, to 11,071 individuals and touched another 43,000 lives through phone calls, referrals, educational presentations, and by providing for those visiting walk-in family centers.
